KPG provided preliminary planning design and construction documents for the redevelopment of this mile-long collector arterial. Work included a center-turn lane with new bike lanes, curb, gutter and sidewalks. Also added were landscaped center islands and planter strips, three new signals, new illumination system, new storm drainage system, signing, and striping. Issues involved in this project included: noise impacts, single-family and multifamily residential frontage impacts, and extensive franchise utility coordination to eliminate conflicts with existing facilities. In addition, KPG was involved with the Public Involvement Process from the inception of the study to the completion of construction plans. The project included drop-in meetings, flyers and newsletters, a formal Citizen Advisory Group process, and presentations.
