Coal Creek and Fulmer Field
Pump House and Corrosion Control Facilities
City of Auburn, WA

KPG provided initial conceptual site planning, landscape architecture, and architecture to design and integrate these municipal facilities into an existing city park environment. The first of two structures is the Well 2 and 6 Building, housing two wells and pumps, motor control center and staff work area. The Corrosion Control Facility includes a clearwell, incorporating four pumps, extensive hypochlorite treatment, blower room and water treatment towers, motor control center, and standby electrical generator. Although each building was a separate project, KPG undertook to design both buildings in a unified manner, and led the process to facilitate favorable project approval by the City's Parks Review Board by integrating concerns of the established public users of the site, as well as the Park functions, into these municipal facilities.
