Cedar Hills Maintenance Facility
King County, WA

KPG assisted King County in identifying and evaluating deficiencies related to several aspects affecting the integrity of the Cedar Hills Maintenance Shop building. KPG has addressed failures of the 9,200 sf tire and weld shop roof, fall restraint improvements, enclosure of the existing tire bay and the associated improvements to allow eventual heating of the spaces, and modified and expanded life safety provisions in the shop locker roof and the ventilation and fire alarm systems in the tire shop. In each case, KPG began with an exploratory study of each problem to be addressed, identified and presented the County with viable solutions and relevant cost estimates, and after gaining the concurrence of the Solid Waste Engineering staff and shop users, prepared contract documents to implement solutions arrived at through this process.
