Coal Creek Restoration
City of Bellevue

KPG developed alternatives and prepared construction documents for this 1,500 cubic yard in-stream regional sedimentation basin located in a King County park in south Bellevue.

Restoration work included extensive coordination with the Department of Fisheries, Department of Ecology, Corps of Engineers, Indian Tribes and King County Parks Department. Facilities included a naturalistic pond basin shaped to fit the existing hillside, a renovated trial head, fish passage weirs, rootwads, snags, gravel bedding, extensive native riparian vegetation, an interpretive sign, and a park trailhead for hiking access.
