KPG provided space planning and design to convert an existing industrial concrete pipe manufacturing facility into a $3M recycling center and vehicle maintenance facility. The project included a 3,500 sf administration operations building. An extensive permitting process was required from the City of Lacey. KPG provided all permitting, design and construction administration. This 25-acre site contained an existing office building, which KPG redesigned and enlarged to create two (2) additional offices and a reception area with a drive-through teller window for efficient payment processing. KPG provided all pavement design and an 80-ft platform scale. Frontage improvements include curb and gutter and the creation of a landscape barrier along the west and northwest sides of the parcel. KPG was responsible for all storm drainage facilities, including a 1.7-acre infiltration basin and related 0.5-acre water quality wet pond, as well as all earthwork, utility designs, quantity calculations, site permitting, and channelization plans for this project. The project also included a “Z-wall” design including eight (8) recycle drop box areas 12 ft x 24 ft and two (2) 40-ft top load trailer stalls (12 ft x 62 ft ea). The existing contours and onsite fill material helped in the reducing the amount of site work and the need borrow material.
