KPG provided design services for the “Main Street” in downtown Burien. The project called for reducing traffic speeds in order to make pedestrian access safer. The entire roadway cross-section was reconstructed from building face to building face. Pedestrian amenities included wider sidewalks, curb bulbs with crosswalks, benches, pedestrian lighting, trees, planters with custom railings, information kiosks with public art and a gateway. KPG also provided construction support services for the project which was completed in 2003.

SW 152nd Street won the APWA Project of the Year Award (WA Chapter) 2004 and the 2005 Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Award from the Washington State Department of Trade and Economic Development!
