| The Alaska Way Viaduct replacement is a $1.96 billion mega-project located along the Seattle,Washington waterfront. The proposed solution for a 1.7 mile deep bore tunnel requires integrated operations and maintenance facilities and complex ventilation structures that meet the prerequisite for efficient and safe tunnel operations. KPG, our architectural and engineering lead, provided a programming solution that is unique and innovative by incorporating the facilities within the constraints of the overall tunnel project while adhering to essential life safety and operational requirements. | ![]() |

Congratulations to Duvall Main Street for winning the 2010 APWA Washington Chapter Public Works Project of the Year Award in the Transportation Category for Less than $5 million! The Chapter Public Works Projects of the Year Award recognizes excellence in management and administration of public works projects; 4 divisions and 5 categories. For 2009, the divisions were changed to projects less than $5 million, $5 to $25 million, $25 to $75 million, and over $75 million. |

The Shoreline Recycling and Transfer Station receives LEED NC-2.1 Platinum Project Certification! As the prime consultant, KPG led the entire team through a rigorous planning, design, construction and commissioning process in order to achieve King County’s sustainability goals. The Shoreline RTS now represents the only solid waste processing facility and the only industrial building to be awarded this level of Certification, and is among only 60 other projects in the United States (65 projects worldwide) with a LEED Platinum Certification.
