Redmond Parking Garage

KPG provided architectural design for a 350 stall King County Metro Transit parking garage in a downtown district of the City of Redmond.  KPG had previously been responsible for the design of the Redmond Transit Center, located on NE 83 Street, which unites the parking garage, the City’s Skateboard Park, and a transit oriented development. This King County Metro Transit parking garage is essentially Phase 2 of the Transit Center development.  KPG designed the parking garage to fit both the existing urban context, with brick textures, awnings, and lighting appropriate to the streetscape, but the design also observes requirements for Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) and includes glass-fronted elevators, minimized concealed spaces, CCTV, and low ground cover shrubbery at the building.  At the perimeter of the site, existing tree buffers were preserved.
