KPG provided conceptual design and construction documents for custom art panels for the new SR 520 on ramp at Redmond Way. The panel design is inspired by a historic lace motif worn on a dress from an early settler of the Redmond area, located in the Eastside Heritage Museum. This design reflects a city orientation, rather than the SR520 corridor because the panels are visible from the City side and because the intersection area is a gateway node into downtown. The concept of movement and acceleration is the underlying basis for the panel arrangement. |
