BACK / DIVISION STREET
KPG provided project management and design services for a curbless, decorative, festival street in the heart of Downtown Renton. The roadway design includes a 12” to 18”stormwater reservoir course underneath 9” thick alternating strips of pervious and non-pervious cement concrete. Although the project did not trigger stormwater requirements for flow control or water quality, the pervious concrete and reservoir system was designed to infiltrate up to 99.6% of runoff from 1.45 acres of the proposed roadway project. A minimal conventional backup system is provided which also includes a 700 foot long, 48” diameter storm detention pipe that provide flow control for anticipated future developments at the intersection of South Division Street and 1st Street SW/SE. The project received a Greenroads award.
