BACK / CENTENNIAL GATEWAYS
KPG provided design improvements to Stephens St. to celebrate the City’s 100th birthday. KPG facilitated design charrettes with the Centennial Committee and Cultural Commission to brainstorm celebratory ideas that led the creation of a “history promenade” from Main Street to the historic Railroad Depot. Work included new street and utility improvements, undergrounding aerial utilities, and a promenade trail that connects Main Street to the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. Celebratory elements include a gateway at Main Street and a trellis gateway at the Depot and McCormick Parks, and three public art sculptures in between that celebrate eras within the centennial.
The project received a 2014 APWA (WA) Award!
